http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS01-020.asp Micros~1 has once again featurized a security hole of unfathomable crapitude. For some reason, IE still thinks that files of certain MIME types are appropriate to be downloaded and run without question. After all this time, with all the worms that have been written, they still haven't decided to change the rule instead of patching in various exceptions to the rule over time Many products have security holes, but this is not a "hole". This is an institutionalized masochistic suicidal tendency on the part of Windows and the associated "applications" that fester around it. As an analogy for the Internet challenged at this Internet company, this is equivalent to a random person walking up to you on the street, giving you a syringe, and telling you to inject yourself. I have never in my life seen a piece of software that just says "okay!" as enthusiastically and as often as the mangled heap of bits from Redmond do. I advocate the complete destruction of any Microsoft products currently in use at Wego Systems, preferably by fire. I cannot understand why individuals would collectively subject themselves to an operat~1 that makes them the laughingstock of anyone they ever correspond with. Oh wait, that's because the people they correspond with also use the same thing. The world for some reason relies on a set of power tools that thinks it's funny to jump up every so often and drill a neat little hole in the owner's leg. And people _pay_ for this! Don't think, little bugs, just fly toward the pretty buzzing light.... Anyway, until your machine is patched, you shouldn't read, well, any email whatsoever. Sorry.
